Music without Borders Kyrgyzstan
The traditional livelihoods of the Tien Shan and Mongolian Plateau indigenous peoples are closely linked to these landscapes, which, unfortunately, are being degraded due to the human factor at local and global levels. This initiative will look to carry out the following, (a) to signal to the local community the problems of degradation of pasture soil, the pollution of local rivers and lakes, and the melting of glaciers through the voice of the earth itself and creative youth and (b) to establish a creative traditional relationship and spiritual communication with the Earth and the natural elements, through musical and visual co-creation.
To support the perpetuation and revival of traditional knowledge through young people and the use of music. It also re-establishes through music the connection of these indigenous communities with their land and environment making them conscious of the negative changes and what will be required to reverse these trends.
