The project aimed to established mechanisms in safeguarding the IP territories and the cultural heritage of 3 target IP communities of Mansaka tribe in the municipality Maco, Davao de Oro particularly in the Barangays of Gubatan, Libaylibay and Panangan. Outlined activities are based on the project objectives for one (1) year project duration which are to transmit the traditional knowledge of Mansaka to their young generations for the protection, preservation and promotion of their cultural heritage and strengthened their environmental protection and ancestral domain management that would develop and empowers Indigenous Peoples to sustainable self-determination in collaboration with various stakeholders.
Produced and distributed 30 copies (hardbound) research and documentation on 3 Mansaka Living Heritage. Empowered and developed 60 youth leaders as 2nd liners from 3 communities. Developed 21 IP women advocates of their rights from 3 communities. Disseminated IPRA Law and enhanced awareness on different IP rights and instrumentalities. Produced 200 customized IPRA (RA-8173) booklets.Validated localized community rules. Enhanced awareness and capacity of 3 IP communities in the protection of their environment and ancestral domain. Developed and crafted 1 community development plan in each community. Conducted 3 series of at least 30 pax each activity in each community on value formation related to traditional farming and Environmental protection.
