Pastoralists Indigenous Non-Governmental Organizations PINGOs

The initiative aims to strengthen community-based and collective-held knowledge of Indigenous Peoples, offering valuable insights and complementing scientific data on climate science and landscape-specific to enable Indigenous Peoples and the decision-making bodies to verify climate models and evaluate climate change scenarios at a much broader spatial and temporal scale. The initiative will further support and revitalise efforts of the best practices of Indigenous Peoples’ ways of knowing and knowledge system on nature and biodiversity that support community-based local adaptation and mitigation measures.

To use a human-rights-based approach in addressing climate-related issues among indigenous communities and carry out research that can inform climate policies in Tanzania and design strategies for adaptation and resilience of the community to climate variabilities.
