Land rights advocacy for Maasai in Ngorongoro

The initiative sought to support the capacity strengthening and advocacy of Maasai communities in Ngorongoro, Tanzania, currently facing the threat of eviction from their territory in the name of conservation through fact-finding missions, documentation, capacity building, and advocacy to influence policies processes for the recognition and protection of the rights of Maasai.

The capacity of indigenous peoples to land and human rights violations was enhanced.

Strategic documents of advocacy were made.

A greater level of awareness among stakeholders was created.

The threat of eviction of pastoralists in Ngorongoro District was mitigated.

Knowledge of Indigenous People was promoted through mass and social media, learning, and the exchange of information.
