Herring Protectors
We will create an instructional film series to honor, preserve and share the knowledge and wisdom of elders and harvesters on the harvest of herring eggs.The series will support the renewal of Lingít lifeways around the stewardship, harvesting, sharing and eating of herring eggs for generations to come, and we envision that the series will be shared in many fórums, from classrooms to ceremonial spaces.
Through the creation of the series, we will foster intergenerational dialogues and relationships and we will do the work in a good way to create positive opportunities for all involved.
