“Drawing on the Past for an Informed Future” is an initiative that continues the “Strengthening of Indigenous Knowledge in Prevention and Treatment of COVID-19 and Other Dangerous Diseases” project. The aim is to have a sustainable cultural transfer process through platforms where elders teach the younger generations about our ancestral customs, commune with nature, and connect with our origin by speaking our ancestral language.
Enhanced protection and preservation of traditional knowledge through strengthened documentation of positive cultural practices, traditional knowledge on food processing and preservation, herbal medicine, and ways of curing diseases, artifacts, landscapes, and cultural and spiritual attachments.
Formation of indigenous cultural centers that are community-owned and that will act as traditional knowledge transition centers for the old to young generations and a center of both local and international tourism that will generate income for the community.
