Grant name: Strengthening our ancestral practices, through the management of our community assets
Local partner: Llaguepulli Indigenous Community
Country: Chile
Background and objective
At Lake Budi, Lafkenche, Chile, there is a need to expand small family agriculture as part of a new paradigm of work aimed at the creation of a working nucleus, which can be promoted through intergenerational learning, women’s leadership, and associative processes. This far-reaching agroecological transition will allow the community to overcome practices imposed by the dominant society and offer a great opportunity for territorial scaling up in an area with high bio-cultural conservation.
The continuity of the project (from IWKLF 2017) will strengthen the agroecological practices of the Lafkenche by working directly with 32 families; and strengthen access to markets through the development of Mutual Support Community Assets.
