FILAC- Fondo para el Desarrollo de los Pueblos Indigenas de America Latina y el Caribe
The Fund for the Development of Indigenous Peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean (Indigenous Fund) is an international organization of public law, established at the Second Summit of Heads of State and Government held in Madrid, Spain, 24 July 1992 with the aim of supporting the processes of self-development of peoples, communities and indigenous organizations in the region, recognizing the integrity of their territories, their rights and their sociocultural characteristics.
To date, 22 Member States have signed and ratified the Agreement Establishing the Fund for the Development of Indigenous Peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean (Indigenous Fund), a situation that becomes fully-fledged state once deposited the instrument of ratification with the General Secretariat of the United Nations. There are 19 states in the region and 3 extra-regional States, Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Chile, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela and Belgium, Spain and Portugal.
The project’s ultimate goal to show the artistic strategies that use indigenous women to address conflict and violence they face in everyday either general or particular type as life-giving with culture and identity.
Development of cultural activities that strengthen and promote indigenous traditional knowledge with the purpose of preserving cultural identity. Present panels with relevant themes to make visible the work of indigenous women as promoters of peace. Welcoming spectators and participants to the festival for the transmission of traditional knowledge.
