Association for Culture-creating Schools of Altai
Restoration of the traditional education system by AruSvaty Center, innovatively using indigenous and Western scientific knowledge to form an integrated educational process through the natural space of the Sacred Karakol Valley, which provides for correction of organic disturbances and resources in order to achieve self-regulation, self-restoration, and self-education.
We developed a rich and long-term area of work with schoolchildren to identify Traditional Knowledge oF International significance. During the course of the initiative, we developed and tested a methodology for teaching Traditional Knowledge in contemporary conditions.We established a connection between the protected area, local community, and schools. Sharing the SOSG films enabled local residents to sense their connection with other traditional cultures and to better understand their own culture values in contemporary society.
In 2007, the Culture-Creating Schools of Altai Partnership was created with the intent of using the potential of the unique Space of the Sacred valley as an education resource for the creation of traditional (holistic) Knowledge. The five public schools in the Karakol Valley joined the Partnership.
