Kitab Branch of the “Society of Palaeontologists of Uzbekistan
The primary objective of this initiative is to identify and document little-known sacred places located in the Kitab Geological National Natural Park, known as paleontological sites, and in adjacent territories that are not included in the register of cultural heritage sites of Uzbekistan, study pilgrimage practices performed in sacred places and preserve associated with them traditional knowledge through the publication and creation of an online map of the studied sacred objects for inclusion on the website https://Kitabgeopark.ucoz.org
To bring to the forefront concrete data of the physical sites of the sacred sites and unearth traditional knowledge through the sacred sites and pilgrimage practices that speak to the well-being of the Uzbek and Tajik communities living in these territories.
