Public Association “Miralina”
The project aims to document traditional medicinal knowledge about curing people using medicinal plants. In particular, the traditional medical knowledge related to childbirth and skills related to caring for an infant and the infant’s mother are being lost and are safeguarded only by a few knowledge bearers.
320 knowledge bearers in very remote regions were reached, and 11 interviews were conducted on camera, sharing the medicinal knowledge for maternal health. A passport of the intangible cultural heritage (ICH) element was filled and recommended to the National Committee of ICH of the Kyrgyz Republic to supplement the information in the National Inventory of ICH elements of the Kyrgyz Republic.
