Sustainable indigenous ways of knowledge and learning for indigenous and local communities in the Khomas, ||karas, and Otjozondjupa regions

Community Empowerment and Development Association (CEDA)

This initiative contributes to identifying and implementing sustainable indigenous knowledge and learning strategies through targeted interventions in three regions of Khomas, Kunene, and Otjozondjupa in the Republic of Namibia, facing multiple challenges related to climate change, deforestation, and land degradation. The strategies relate to building the capacity of the indigenous communities to draw out traditional knowledge for addressing these challenges and will primarily engage youth and women.

Creating a website/blog as a platform for indigenous youth to engage in discussions and debates about the traditional knowledge being stored on these sites and a database that will be a repository for original traditional stories that have been orally communicated through generations. Three (3) workshops that tackle the issues of climate change, deforestation, and land degradation by the traditional knowledge that has been collected (application of TK to addressing these challenges).
