Enhancement of indigenous Batwa young mothers’ livelihoods through skills development for economic empowerment.

Action for Batwa Empowerment Group (ABEG)

Poverty is rampant among young indigenous Batwa mothers in the Kanungu district due to a lack of social empowerment and training in economically viable skills. To combat this scourge, ABEG trains these young women in the following skills: garment cutting and tailoring, hairdressing, and craft making. After 8 months of training, ABEG will provide equipment and material assistance for these women to start their own businesses, allowing them to generate an income and economic empowerment for their families.

There will be 20 operational and successful enterprises for 20 young mothers equipped with tailoring, hairdressing, and crafts-making skills.
