Save Lamu
The initiative aimed to promote, protect, and conserve the marine environment and enhance natural resource governance in Lamu, including rehabilitating the already destructed mangrove areas.
Through this project, we have planned to gather with partners to enhance mangrove restoration activities in Lamu as they are beneficial and communal.
Supporting 7 groups to establish Mangrove nurseries.
Community collaborative efforts to clean up mangrove ecosystems of plastics and trash.
Increasing awareness of the value and importance of mangrove forests to the youths.
Including beekeeping in the mangrove forests to facilitate pollination and create a source of income for the communities.
