Indigenous Women Forum of North East India (IWFNEI)

The empowerment of Indigenous women as a powerful agents of change can strengthen their communities and impact development of the society. The Indigenous women of north east India share common challenges which are embedded in the intersecting forms of discrimination that women suffer because of their gender, indigenous identity and socio-economic status. Strengthen solidarity and build stronger network among the indigenous women’s organizations based on indigenous centric approach in north east India.Empowered with capacity to influence and enthuse their local communities and become role model and impart positive contribution for development of the society.

IWFNEI will be strengthened by expanding its units to include vulnerable, marginalized and less privileged IP women’s belonging to different communities of northeast India. Build stronger network by reaching out to these women and linking them to larger forums to enable them for IP movement and develop a sense solidarity. The unit members through trainings received should be empowered with skill and knowledge to influence and enthus their local communities. participate and build networks at the national and international forums to exchange peace building dialogues and contribute for the development of the society.
