Sauti ya nyuki (Kiswahili for “The call of the honey bee”)

Promotion and application of indigenous apicultural knowledge to revitalize traditional ecological governance systems and practices in order to safeguard the sacred montane forests of Ol Daiga, G

Accompany indigenous communities for the promotion, use and application of indigenous apicultural knowledge systems and practices for environmental conservation of the first four sacred montane forests along the great African Honey Trail of northern Kenya.

PORINI Kenya was registered in 2006 by like-minded Kenyans who saw a need to reconnect, re-wild and restore ourselves to nature through our Indigenous Knowledge Systems and Customary Laws and modern paradigms on Community Ecological Governance and Earth jurisprudence (that all life forms have a right to exist, habitat and fulfill their purpose). Our mission is to catalyze wider action for communities to live in harmony with nature.

PORINI’s approaches are framed around the concept of nature being sacred and if we reconnect to this value and culture, then we as human beings and all other life forms stand to mutually benefit and sustain our lives, cultures and ecosystems for prosperity and posterity. We accompany Indigenous Communities that can still inform and remind us of how we can maintain a coherent and cohesive life with our cultures and ecosystems.
