Local Partner: Local religious organization for shamanism “Ada Kibyry” – Society of the traditional religion of the Khakas people, Abakan, Khakasiya
The project Ulun kyun (“Holiday”) seeks to improve the health of the Khakas people by renewing traditional medicine, culture, and worldview, and supporting healthy lifestyles, mutual respect, and brotherhood. During the project, at least 10 activities will take place in nature in accordance with the Khakas traditional calendar. Each activity will include ritual with the participation of Khakas shamans, traditional healers (plant medicine, massage, and other practices), throatsinging musicians (“khaidzhi”) and teachers on a variety of historical and cultural themes. The activities will be of sacred, cultural, and historical value and aimed (primarily) at bringing together urban Khakas families who live apart from nature. Using a family approach is the best way to facilitate the distribution of traditional forms of healing.
