Modern approaches to economic development and promotion of craft brands for indigenous peoples of the North

Local Partner: Аutonomous Non-commercial Organization “Center for the Study of Cultural Heritage” “Facilitating Sustainable Development of Peoples of the North” (SURNS)

This project aims to find new approaches to creating and marketing indigenous-produced products, updating traditional crafts, and embedding authentic and modern artisanal products in everyday life. It is located in Siberia and the Russian Far East. 150 indigenous minority women will be recruited to participate in this project, of a total of 500 participants. The network will establish close collaboration among ethno-designers and create at least 100 new displays of indigenous products for their subsequent marketing. Project implementation will allow indigenous ethnic groups to actively participate in a new economic niche (tourism) that provides opportunities for independent development.
